....Featuring six energetic and professional musicians The Australian INXS Show
both celebrates and honours the memory of Michael Hutchence and the band by
bringing back to life the halcyon days of INXS, all the way from their self-titled
debut and onto Elegantly Wasted.
……On the 13th of November 2012 after thanking fans and paying tribute to their
fallen, but 'irreplaceable' front man Michael Hutchence, INXS put an end to a
career spanning 35 years, six ARIA awards, three Grammy nominations and over 30 million album sales.
For 20 years, INXS were a perfect blend of New Wave/Ska and pop rock groove
that eventually gave way to a harder and unique style of funk rock, fused with
dance elements. Not only had they sold out thousands of venues around the
world, received dozens of gold and platinum awards, they were also one of only
five Australian bands to boast a US No 1 hit single. They had an endless array
of hits including Need You Tonight, Never Tear Us Apart, Don't Change, andNew Sensation….
The Australian INXS Show is the definitive ‘Live Baby Live’ tribute to INXS and
faithfully reproduces the live spectacle INXS were famous for. Currently selling out venues all over Australia with amazing live shows, catch them soon!
The Band...
SIMON HEYBLOK has played bass and fronted a string of original bands (Nana-Zhami, Lunchcutter and Die Smiling) playing countless gigs in pubs around VIC and The Gold Coast. 'Nana-Zhami' was part of the line up for John Farnhams 50th Birthday tour, playing 20 shows around Australia to over 200 thousand ticket holders. Simon brings a fabulous vocal tone and a wonderful stage presence to our show.
Rob Moody has been obsessed with guitar for 21
years now, and has been gigging around Melbourne
since 1995. An experienced musician with a broad
range of musical styles at his disposal, Rob has
toured with his band The Nightfillers, and played in
cover bands such as WOMP and Shazam, played
Spanish guitar with duo Fiesta, and country/rock
with Sidetrack. Rob is dedicated to replicating classic
guitar tones and delivering a quality performance on stage. He is also a sensational sax player!
Tim Phillips arrived in Melbourne in 1989. He enjoys playing
bass & writing songs on guitar.
Before joining The Australian INXS Show he
played bass in numerous bands around Melbourne including
N.E.K.(negative earth krap) Grace, Cinematica, Phil Para,
Cory’s nightmare (Alice Cooper tribute), The Budgie
Smugglers, AC/DSHE, & Absolutely Live The Doors
Experience.
Simon D'Aquino is an accompanist, pianist, vocal coach and
musical director who remains actively involved in the
Melbourne music scene. His experience in musical theatre has
seen him involved as a repetiteur & pit musician for dozens of
productions and also as a musical director for many more.
Starting initially as a solo concert performer, Simon has
grown a diverse musical pallet having played a range of
instruments in bands and recordings across styles of rock,
pop, classical, opera and jazz.
Glenn Roche has played in many diverse bands over the years and grew up obsessed with INXS. Playing to INXS when growing up has burnt the songs into his memory and using a complete replica drum kit means you can’t get any closer to the real thing. Glenn has played professionally in Australia and overseas with original and cover bands, including television, music festivals, studio sessions, and many more. Glenn has spent his life preparing for this show but without knowing it.
Tim Saxon started out rockin’ on the border for years in cover
band ‘Tusk’ and joined the Melbourne music scene in 2000 with
party band ‘Funked up’ and later ‘Toasted’.
He took on
replicating top selling artists’ sound as tributes firstly with ‘The
Alanis Morisette Tribute show’ (with Tim Minchen on Keys) and
more recently ‘The Australian Matchbox Twenty’ and ‘Rob
Thomas Tribute show’. He definitely knows how to get a sweet sound from his ‘six string’ and perform.
